ACNE THERAPY
What is acne vulgaris?
Known as just ‘acne’, it is a common skin condition that occurs when hair follicles become blocked with dead skin cells, bacteria, and the natural oils of the skin (sebum). The blockage causes inflammatory and non-inflammatory blemishes like pimples, blackheads, whiteheads, and painful nodules. Acne can be a result of hormonal changes, diet, stress, and family genetics.
Can Chinese medicine help?
Yes! TCM views acne as a toxicity the body is trying to expel through the skin. How the acne lesions present are actually clues as to what is happening inside the body, and will be explored in depth during your initial assessment. Then we can formulate a plan to reduce and/or eliminate it. Many factors often contribute to acne, so treatment plans combine acupuncture, herbal supplements/teas, dietary changes, skincare and lifestyle recommendations. Results can be seen fairly quickly with consistent treatment and compliance with the recommendations made.
What does the acupuncture treatment for acne look like?
There are points needled in the body (likely the arms and legs) to address the underlying imbalances that are unique to you. Once the needles are in, an LED light panel is placed over the face, which is designed to reduce inflammation, kill acne bacteria, and accelerate tissue repair. Finally, a high frequency wand is applied to the skin, which utilizes electrical currents to oxygenate the skin to kill acne bacteria.

Acupuncture Facial
A perfect marriage of technology and technique. Evelyn combines acupuncture, LED light therapy, fascial release, gua sha, and cupping techniques with clean facial products to combat the effects of aging. Results are visible after the first session! With the recommended program of 10 weekly sessions, it’s possible to erase five to fifteen years from the face. Continued monthly maintenance will slow the signs of aging.
Facial acupuncture is a painless, non-surgical method of reducing the signs of aging and a great alternative to Botox and fillers. It is a customized rejuvenation and revitalization process designed to help the whole body look and feel younger, not just superficially.
Benefits may include:
• Fine lines may be entirely eliminated and deeper wrinkles diminished
• Bags and dark circles under the eyes reduced, puffiness eliminated, droopy eyelids lifted
• Jaws and cheeks firmed, double chin minimized
• Forehead and eyebrow furrows reduced and smoothed out
• Firmer and more even skin tone
• Reduce acne scars, hypo/hyper-pigmentation, and sun damage
Please note: Facial acupuncture is contraindicated for those with untreated high blood pressure, on blood thinners, cancer, and epilepsy. The procedure should not be administered during pregnancy, active illness (cold/flu), acute herpes outbreak, active migraine, or within 3 weeks of having Botox/fillers.

Chronic Fatigue
What is chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS)?
Chronic fatigue syndrome is defined as extreme fatigue or exhaustion for six months or longer without medical explanation. Symptoms include: brain fog, low sleep quality/insomnia, widespread pain, inability to focus/concentrate, getting sick often, depression, and resting/sleeping a lot but not feeling recharged. Often, blood work and other medical testing do not reveal anything wrong, but you just don't feel like yourself.
Can Chinese Medicine help me?
A thorough assessment of your health history is conducted to determine possible causes of your symptoms. Chronic fatigue is often triggered by long/strong illnesses or infections, physical trauma, or extreme mental stress. Depending on your individual symptoms, a combination of herbal medicine, acupuncture and lifestyle advice are recommended. Chinese medicine excels in regulating organ function! Over time, results can be profound and long lasting.
